Connect to H: Drive from Home

  • Download this software: EngInSite DataFreeway

  • Click "Run" from the popup window that appears on your screen and follow the on screen instructions.

  • This product will run unregistered for 21 days. After 21 days you need to complete a free online registration to continue using the product.

  • Once you have installed the software click the "Start" button and point to "Programs". Then locate and point to "EngINSite DataFreeway". Now click the item in the menu called "EngInSite DataFreeway".

  • You will now see a window like the one shown below.

  • Click the button called "Free online registration".

  • At this website, scroll to the bottom of the page and select from the drop down menu "DataFreeway". Like shown here:

  • You need only enter your First and Last name and a valid email address. Make sure to accept the license agreement and click Continue.

  • Check your email for the registration code. Once you have the code click the "Enter Code" button during the launch of the DataFreeway program.

Configuring the DataFreeway software...
  • Launch the EngInSite DataFreeway software.

  • Double click the "Add connection" icon.

  • On this window enter "MyHDrive at UMFK" in the "Display name" text box. Then choose "DAV - Distributed Authoring and Versioning system" from the drop down menu.

  • Now click the "Connection" tab at the top of the window.

  • On this tab you will need to enter the following information in each text box.

    • "Host or IP Address" enter the following:

      • student-hdrive.umfk.maine.edu

    • "Port(0-default)" enter the following:

      • 80

    • "User name" enter your NETUMFK username:

      • (this is the username you use when logging onto the computers on campus). For example, if your name is John Doe you would enter john.doe@netumfk.edu.

    • Leave the Password fields blank.

    • "Root directory" enter the following:

      • /netumfk/john.doe (use your name here)

  • Now click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window.

  • Now double click on the new "MyHDrive at UMFK" icon.

  • You will be prompted for a password. Enter your NETUMFK password and click "OK".

  • Depending on your internet connection speed it could take a few moments to connect you to your H:\ drive.

  • Once connected you can then open files from this screen by double clicking on them or you can download them to your computers hard drive. You can also upload files from your hard drive to your H:\ drive by clicking the "Upload" choice on the right of the screen.

  • To download a file from your H:\ drive you must first single click the file you would like to download then click "Download file" from the choices on the right of the screen.
