H Drive Acceptance Policy
- Students must presuppose that all materials on the Internet are protected by copyright and/or patent laws unless specific notices state otherwise. Downloading and storing copyrighted material on University equipment is strictly prohibited.
- Bandwidth both within the University and in connecting to the Internet is a shared, finite resource. Students must make reasonable efforts to use this resource in ways that do not negatively affect other students.
- Under no circumstance are students allowed to overload networks storage space (H:\ Drive) with excessive data or illegal files of any sort. Exceptions can be made for users that require additional space.
- Electronic communication resources are limited. Students should conserve these resources and must not deliberately perform actions that waste resources or monopolize them to the exclusion of other students. This includes downloading/uploading non-school work related files.
- The University of Maine at Fort Kent has the right to monitor University computer systems, including network storage space. We can review material uploaded or downloaded to or from this equipment and remove any material at any time which we deem inappropriate.
