#1 SUNY – Canton 3 #2 UMFK 0
Portland, ME – State University of New York at Canton (SUNY Canton) defeated UMFK 3-0 to win the Sunrise Conference Championship and earn a trip to the NAIA National Tournament in Daytona Beach, FL. Lauren Ploof and Shirley DuBrey scored first half goals and Erin Tulip added a goal in the 48th minute to seal the win for the Kangaroos in their first year in the conference. SUNY (16-2-0) keep Brianna Sexson got the shut-out win making six saves on 11 shots while Liz LaPlante (Madawaska, ME) made 12 saves on 22 shots for UMFK who ends their season at 11-6-2 (10-3 SC) with all three conf losses coming at the hands of SUNY. The two first half goals and the early second half one gave SUNY too much insurance as UMFK couldn't not convert vs. Sexson and a solid Canton defense.
