A native of Maine, Coach Ashby has served as athletic director at Brescia University in Owensboro, Kentucky, since 2005. He also has been the men's soccer coach there since 2002.
In his first season on the sidelines for the Bengals Coach Ashby led UMFK to a 13-3 record, a Sunrise Conference and Region X Championship and a trip to the Region IX Semifinals.
Prior to his work in Kentucky, Ashby was the head men's soccer coach at University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota from 1998-2002; the head men's and women's soccer coach at Maine Maritime Academy in Castine from 1992 to 1997; head men's soccer coach at Husson College in Bangor from 1989 to 1992; and the head men's soccer coach at the University of Maine at Machias from 1984 to 1987.
Ashby holds seven coaching licenses issued through the National Soccer Coaches Association of America or the United States Soccer Federation. Ashby also has served as coach or director to numerous state, local and national committees on teaching students and coaches the skills necessary to perform soccer at its highest level both on and off the field.
Ashby received a Bachelor of Arts in History and Social Science from the University of Maine at Machias. He earned a Masters of Management from University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota.
