What's cool about UMFK?
I think it's great that the professors actually know you by name, and are able to do one on one with us. Especially in the nursing program, if my professors weren't so helpful and so willing, I wouldn't make it very far. I also think it's great that the actual community itself is so small. I grew up in a small town and always thought I would move to a big city for college, but I love knowing everyone around here.

What do you do for fun outside the classroom?
Well, as I'm sure everyone knows the Nursing program is very difficult, so a lot of the time I'm studying or doing homework. I'm not saying that if you're in the Nursing program you won't have a life, but you will be doing a fair amount of studying. Outside of that, it's nice to go for walks with my puppy around the "mills" here in town, seeing my friends, going to the movies on $1 movie on Sundays for College students, and everything else.

What do you like about the Nursing program?
I absolutely love the Nursing program. All of the professors are SO helpful, and I'm so excited to graduate. No matter how hard things get, I like to always think about the fact that I only have 2 more years, and then I will be graduated with my BSN.

What are your professors like?
They are wonderful! As I've already said, they are so helpful and so caring. They show you that they really genuinely want you to succeed, and they are there to help.

Any advice for a new student coming to UMFK?
Just come prepared to meet lots of great people. As I said before, the professors and other students are all so wonderful.
