What's cool about UMFK?
It's a small campus, you get to know a lot of new people as a result of that. You don't just feel like you are just another person getting lost in the college system. I also like the fact that although it is a small campus, it is culturally diverse, there are many students here that are from other countries. Which does make things easier for me as an international student knowing that there are others in my position as well. The other great thing is that our main sports programs at the college are of a very high level, the soccer program is now nationally recognized and basketball has made great progress and is sooner rather than later going to be a serious force to be reckoned with.

What do you do for fun outside the classroom?
During the Fall we are in the soccer season, so most of the time our time is completely taken up by soccer practices, games and traveling. In the winter, there are a lot of indoor activities that take place during the week, like indoor soccer, floor hockey, volleyball, basketball and the gym is also open everyday of the week which most of the students on campus make use of. There is also Lonesome Pines, Fort Kent's very own ski slope, which is not even a five minute drive. So every time I get the opportunity I love to go snowboarding, because it is so close and also really cheap for students.

What do you like about the Business Management program?
I like the business program here because it is run really well, you really do learn a lot because the classrooms are not overcrowded and gives the professors a chance to make sure that all the students in the class are up to date and have a good understanding of what is being taught in a laid back and friendly environment.

What are your professors like?
What I like about the professors here at UMFK is that they are not just here to earn their months wages and then leave. They actually enjoy what they are doing which makes their classes very insightful and enjoyable. They know you on a first name basis which shows that you are not just another number in the classroom. You find yourself laughing and having a good time in a very focused environment.

Any advice for a new student coming to UMFK?
I previously attended a university of over forty thousand students, which makes it so easy to get caught up in the system and fall behind in your studies. Where the professors actually don't care whether or not you hand in assignments, if you don't hand in assignments, that just means less work for them to grade. Attending a smaller university helped me out so much because of the individual attention that you get here. Professors have an open door policy here and they expect to hear from you if you have any quiries concerning the work. So why go to a huge college and stress your way through your four years to get the same degree you could get here, where the only difference is the size of the school.
