Counseling

UMFK prides itself on its student-centered emphasis. Understanding attitudes and successful interpersonal relations are vital for success in the personal and professional life of every adult. The UMFK staff believes in and exemplifies respect for and attention to the individual. To this end, our faculty, advisors, residence hall personnel, counselors and administrators consider students' concerns to be of primary importance. Personal, academic and career concerns may be discussed with an Academic & Counseling Services counselor. Please call 834-7530 to arrange a confidential appointment.

The Aroostook County Mental Health Center (AMHC), located on West Main Street, Fort Kent provides counseling services for groups and individuals. Appointments may be made directly with AMHC or assistance can be provided to help initiate contact with outside service agencies.

More information can be found at Maine Human Services for students seeking financial, medical and housing assistance.
