Opportunities

Preceptorship
Preceptorship is a service learning opportunity for students to work one on one with a registered nurse to apply nursing knowledge and to build their clinical nursing skills by caring for individuals and their families. Students may choose the clinical site, professional role model, and specialty area of interest. This opportunity not only allows students to increase their competence but also their confidence in a guided preceptorship setting.

Student Nurses Organization
Student Nurses Organization is a campus organization that unites UMFK students who are interested in professional nursing, establishes a liaison between the student body and the faculty, and provides a forum for professional and social activity. Students participate in numerous activities to include blood drives, health fairs, fund raising, the scarecrow festival, and UMFK homecoming events.

Nursing Honor Society
Nursing Honor Society was formed for the purpose of recognizing and fostering academic excellence and scholarship among students, alumni, and community leaders in nursing.
