The nursing program at UMFK is accredited by the Maine State Board of Nursing, 24 Stone Street, 158 Statehouse Station, Augusta, Maine, 04333-0158, and the Commission for Collegiate Nursing Education, One Dupont Circle, NW, Suite 530, Washington, DC, 20036-1120.

Accreditation is an external process affirming established standards of excellence for baccalaureate nursing education upheld by the Division of Nursing at UMFK. In addition, accreditation assures students of transferability of state licensure and of eligibility for admission to graduate school.
