Secondary Certification - Bachelor of University Studies
Students must:
- Completed 60 or more credits towards their bachelor’s degree.
- Complete all General Education requirements for their degree program.
- Complete at least 24 credits in their content endorsement area with a grade of “C� or better.
- Pass all three parts of the Praxis I exam.
- Be in good academic standing with the University.
Students typically complete their education courses in three semesters. Students who are seeking endorsements outside of Maine may need additional coursework. Before beginning certification program, students must complete content courses needed for their area of endorsement and pass the Praxis I exam. (See Education Major)

Student Teaching Requirements
- Completed at least 105 credit credits toward a Bachelor’s degree.
- Completion of 24 credit credits in content area of endorsement.
- Completion of the Secondary Education Core.
- Must have a grade of “C� or better in the 24 credit credits content area courses and in the courses of Secondary Education Core.
- Passed Praxis I.
- Passed Praxis II, including the PLT.
